Evian-les-Bains, France (dpa) – Captain Bastian Schweinsteiger and defender Benedikt Hoewedes returned to Germany team training ahead of Thursday’s Euro 2016 semi-final with France.

«Other than Sami Khedira and Mario Gomez, everyone took part in final training,» the German Football Association tweeted Wednesday.

On Tuesday Hoewedes trained individually as a precaution and Schweinsteiger also sat out the main session as he continued to recover from a knee ligament injury suffered in the quarter-final win over Italy.

Gomez is ruled out of the tournament with a thigh injury while Khedira has an adductor issue which could heal in time for Sunday’s final should Germany beat France.
