LAUSANNE, June 5, 2024 – AIPS is set to continue its Olympic tradition of honouring journalists who have covered 10 or more Olympic Games in Paris in August.

AIPS will organise a special ceremony celebrating Olympic journalism, where journalists with more than 10 Olympic Games will receive special recognition. The event will be held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on August 6 at 8.30 am. It will be so early because colleagues have to go to the competitions after.

Thomas Bach, IOC president, will be present at the event. He had reminded us during our AIPS Congress in Lausanne in 2019 that Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the Modern Olympic Games, was also an AIPS member.

The recognition will be given to colleagues who have covered 10 or more Summer and Winter Olympic Games, and will be in Paris. Such members of the media are requested to contact AIPS as soon as possible.

Colleagues who will be in Paris and have covered 10 or more Games need to send the following details to this email address: aipscentennial@aipsmedia.com, by July 20.

Name
Contact details
Nationality
Number of Summer and Winter Olympic Games covered
Media organization
Date of birth
Image (JPEG) of yourself

Put “Journalists on the Podium + your name” in the object of the email and send to: aipscentennial@aipsmedia.com on or before July 20.
