Las inscripciones están abiertas para el segundo ciclo del Programa Jóvenes Reporteros, promovido por el Comité Olímpico Internacional, que tendrá lugar del 12 al 29 de agosto de 2014 en Nanjing, China, sede de los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud 2014.
La iniciativa de capacitación en periodismo deportivo reunirá a 30 periodistas jóvenes, con edades de 18 a 24 años, de los cinco continentes: África, América, Asia, Oceanía y Europa. El grupo también incluirá jóvenes procedentes de China (país anfitrión de los JOJ 2014), Noruega (país anfitrión de los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud de Invierno Lillehammer 2016) y Argentina (el país anfitrión de los JOJ Buenos Aires 2018).
Los reporteros jóvenes vivirán en la Villa Olímpica de la Juventud, con más de 3.600 atletas y recibirán clases intensivas y capacitación sobre el terreno de parte de alguno de los más importantes representantes del ramo de la comunicación impresa, fotografía, televisión, radio y nuevos medios.
Se alienta a los estudiantes universitarios que estudian periodismo o jóvenes profesionales que trabajan en los medios de comunicación a inscribirse, poniéndose en contacto con sus Comités Olímpicos Nacionales, que designarán a los Jóvenes Reporteros en base a sus resultados y propuestas. Las Asociaciones Continentales (AIPS América entre ellas) seleccionarán dos varones y dos mujeres periodistas que representarán a sus continentes.
?Jóvenes Reporteros del primer ciclo iniciado en los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud Singapur 2010 son hoy grandes realidades. Muchos de ellos han cubierto los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres 2012.

Applications still open for IOC Young Reporter Programme for Nanjing Youth Olympic Games 2014
Applications are still open for the second cycle of the International Olympic Committee’s Young Reporter Programme, which will be held August 12-29, 2014 in Nanjing, China, host of the 2014 Youth Olympic Games.
The sports journalism training initiative will bring together 30 young reporters, aged from 18 to 24, from the five continents, Africa, Americas, Asia, Oceania and Europe. The group will also include young news-crafters from China (the host nation for the 2014 YOG), Norway (the host nation for the Lillehammer 2016 YOG) and Argentina (the host nation for the Buenos Aires 2018 YOG).
The Young Reporters will live in the Youth Olympic Village with over 3,600 athletes and receive intensive class and field training from some of the top names in the business in print, photographic, television, radio and new media.
University students studying journalism or young professionals working in media are encouraged to apply by contacting their National Olympic Committees, who will nominate Young Reporters on the basis of performance and promise. The Continental Associations will then select two male and two female journalists to represent the continent.
Past Young Reporters from the first cycle launched at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games have gone on to great things, with many covering the London 2012 Olympic Games in a professional capacity and landing jobs presenting radio shows, writing columns and travelling the world in the name of sports journalism.
