Centro Caribe Sports, el Comité Olímpico de El Salvador (COES), el Instituto Nacional de los Deportes de El Salvador (El INDES) y la Alcaldía de San Salvador, han firmado el acuerdo que oficializa a la capital de El Salvador como la sede de los XXIV Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe de 2023.

La Ceremonia de Apertura de los XXIV Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe está fijada para el 12 de mayo de 2023.

Los presidentes de Centro Caribe Sports, el COES, INDES y el Alcalde de San Salvador; Luis Mejía (DOM), Eduardo Palomo (ESA), Yamil Bukele (ESA) y Mario Durán (ESA) respectivamente, firmaron los documentos pertinentes para sellar el convenio.

“Concretamos la parte protocolar que anima y orienta la materialización de los Juegos. Trabajamos de la mano para ofrecer lo mejor para la juventud de Centroamérica y del Caribe, en especial a los salvadoreños”, fueron las declaraciones de Mejía Oviedo al sellar el acuerdo con las partes interesadas de El Salvador.

La ciudad de San Salvador albergará por tercera vez los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe en su historia, siendo el 1935 (III) y 2002 (XIX), las ocasiones en que tuvo a su cargo la realización de los Juegos regionales más antiguos del mundo.

En los próximos días una Comisión de Centro Caribe Sports viajará a El Salvador para iniciar la supervisión de los trabajos de construcción y montaje de los Juegos, y además, dejará instalados con residencia permanente en El Salvador a representantes para el seguimiento directo de los trabajos.

Centro Caribe Sports, the Olympic Committee of El Salvador (COES), the National Institute of Sports of El Salvador (INDES) and the Mayor’s Office of San Salvador, have signed the agreement that makes the capital of El Salvador as official venue of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games in 2023.

The Opening Ceremony of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games is set to take place on May 12, 2023.

The Presidents of Centro Caribe Sports, COES, INDES and the Mayor of the city of San Salvador; Luis Mejia (DOM), Eduardo Palomo (ESA), Yamil Bukele (ESA) and Mario Durán (ESA) respectively, signed the pertinent documents to seal the agreement.

“We have stipulated the protocol that encourages and guides the materialization of the Games. We work hand to hand to offer the best for the youth of Central America and the Caribbean, especially the Salvadorans”, were the words of Mejia Oviedo to seal the agreement with the interested parties of El Salvador.

The city of San Salvador will host the Central American and Caribbean Games for the third time in its history, being 1935 (III) and 2002 (XIX), the occasions in which it was in charge of holding the oldest regional Games in the world.

In the coming days, a commission from Centro Caribe Sports will travel to El Salvador to begin supervising the construction and assembly of the Games, and will leave some representatives with permanent residence in El Salvador for a direct monitoring of the work.
