Buenos Aires, Argentina, 6 de marzo de 2014.- Entre el 12 y el 16 de febrero, en Manaus, capital del estado de Amazonas, se realizó un Congreso Internacional de Periodistas Deportivos, junto a un encuentro turístico a modo de preparación para la prensa, en vísperas del próximo mundial de fútbol.

En este importante evento, un periodista representante de cada país que intervendrá en la Copa del Mundo 2014 expuso acerca de la actualidad de su selección y su organización nacional y, entre otras actividades, se visitaron las instalaciones del estadio Arena Amazonas que está próximo a ser inaugurado.

FAPED estuvo representada por su Delegado Internacional, el Lic. Cristian Torino; mientras que la AFA lo hizo a través de su Director de Medios y Comunicaciones, Ernesto Cherquis Bialo, quien estuvo presente de manera virtual con un discurso a modo de salutación y deseos de buenos augurios para los periodistas que formaron parte de este encuentro internacional.

Además de la ronda de exposiciones, los participantes pudieron conocer algunas de las ofertas turísticas de Manaus como el Teatro Amazonas, el Palacio de Justicia, el puente sobre el Río Negro, y el Encuentro de las Aguas – sitio único en el mundo en que los ríos Negro y Solimoes, con tonalidades bien diferenciadas, confluyen a lo largo de seis kilómetros sin mezclar sus aguas.

Cerca de la finalización del congreso llegó la hora más esperada por los periodistas deportivos; la de concurrir al Estadio Arenas Amazonas “Vivaldo Lima”, que será la más exótica y alejada de las doce sedes de la Copa del Mundo 2014.

Allí, los representantes de la prensa mundial pudieron ver el estado de avance de las obras y lo poco que le falta a esta arena para ser entregada a las autoridades y finalmente ser inaugurada oficialmente.

Este estadio debió ser inaugurado el 20 de diciembre de 2013 pero debido a retrasos en las obras sumado al fallecimiento de tres obreros, tuvo que ser postergado su lanzamiento en tres oportunidades. La última de ellas iba a ser el pasado viernes 14 de febrero, para lo cual se encontraban dispuestos desde la Presidente de Brasil, Dilma Rousseff, hasta todos los periodistas deportivos que asistieron al congreso.

Luego de la visita al estadio, la cena y los discursos del acto de clausura, los periodistas emprendieron la vuelta a sus países de origen, pero con la promesa y la convicción de volver a verse las caras en junio próximo. En esta oportunidad, en el marco de la etapa final de la Copa del Mundo FIFA Brasil 2014, que promete hacer historia.

FAPED and AFA together in Manaus for the 2014 FIFA World Cup

Buenos Aires, Argentina, March 6, 2014.- Between 12 and 16 February in Manaus, capital of Amazonas state, was held an International Congress of Sports Journalists, along with a tourism meeting as a preparation for the press, just before the next World Cup.

In this important event, a journalist representative from each country that will participate in the World Cup 2014 spoke about the present day of their team and their national organization and, among other activities, were visited the facilities of the Arena Amazon that is about to be inaugurated.

FAPED was represented by its International Delegate, Mr. Cristian Torino, while the AFA did it through its Director of Media and Communications, Ernesto Cherquis Bialo, who was present in a virtual way with a speech by way of greeting and wishes of good omens for the journalists that formed part of this international event.

In addition to the round of exhibitions, the participants were able to learn some of the tourist offer of Manaus as the Amazon Theater, the Palace of Justice, the bridge over the Black River, and the Meeting of the Waters – the only place in the world in which the rivers Black and Solimoes, with well differentiated hues, converge along six kilometers without mixing their waters.

Near the end of the congress arrived the most awaited hour for sports journalists, that is to concur to the Stadium Arenas Amazon «Vivaldo Lima», which will be the most exotic and remote from the twelve venues of the World Cup 2014.

There, the representatives of the world press were able to see the state of progress of the works and how little is missing to this arena to be delivered to the authorities and finally to be officially inaugurated.

This stadium had to be inaugurated on December 20, 2013 but due to delays in the works plus the deaths of three workers, had to be postponed its launch three times. The last one was going to be on Friday February 14, for which have been prepared since the President of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, until all sports journalists who attended the congress.
