El primer vicepresidente de AIPS América, Enrique Montesinos, habló en Cali acerca de los 90 años de vida de AIPS. / The first vice president of AIPS America, Enrique Montesinos, spoke in Cali about the 90 years of life of AIPS.

Cali, Colombia, 26 de agosto de 2014.- En una sobria pero elegante y concurrida ceremonia, la Federación de Periodistas Deportivos de América, AIPS América, representada por su primer vicepresidente Enrique Montesinos y el vicepresidente para Sudamérica Carlos Julio Castellanos, entregó el Premio AIPS América 2013 al Mejor Centro de Prensa, a los Novenos Juegos Mundiales que se celebraron en la ciudad de Cali, entre julio y agosto de 2013.

Este acto, que fue destacado y elogiado por la prensa deportiva colombiana, hace parte de la celebración de los 90 años de la Asociación Internacional de la Prensa Deportiva (AIPS), en América.

Una placa a manera de pergamino, trofeo institucional de AIPS América, fue entregado a la Secretaria de Deporte y Recreación de Cali, Clara Luz Roldán y al Secretario Privado de la Alcaldía de Cali, Juan Esteban Angel Borrero, quienes representaron al Alcalde de la capital vallecaucana, Rodrigo Guerrero, principal entusiasta para el éxito de los Juegos Mundiales.

Durante la presentación del Premio AIPS América al Mejor Centro de Prensa, el vicepresidente para Sudamérica y presidente de ACORD Colombia, Carlos Julio Castellanos Rincón, hizo un rápido recuento de lo que ha sido el galardón, que fuera aprobado durante el Congreso de AIPS América que se celebró en Bucaramanga, a comienzo de 2011.

«Para los Juegos Mundiales, para los colegas que estuvieron al frente del Centro de Prensa pero especialmente para ACORD Colombia, es muy grato dar esta noticia por cuanto la postulación fue hecha por nosotros y acogida de manera unánime, primero por el jurado y luego por los países que participaron, en lo que se ratifica la confianza que ha ganado el periodismo colombiano», aseguró en su intervención Castellanos, al recordar, de paso, que en la primera edición del Premio AIPS América el honor fue para el Centro de Prensa del Mundial Sub 20 de Fútbol que se disputó en varias ciudades del país en 2011.

A su turno el vicepresidente 1° de AIPS América, el cubano Enrique Montesinos, hizo igualmente un elogio del Premio al Centro de Prensa y destacó que se debió al trabajo y a las facilidades que la organización de los Juegos Mundiales les ofreció a los más de 1.000 periodistas deportivos de los 109 países que cubrieron el desarrollo del certamen.

Exaltó la vinculación del gobierno y la disposición de quienes integraron el equipo de trabajo del Centro de Prensa, pues «no hay nada mejor que un periodista regrese satisfecho a su país de origen luego del cubrimiento profesional a todo dar por las ventajas y garantías. Hablarán siempre bien y estarán dispuestos a retornar», dijo Montesinos en la antesala de la entrega de la placa especial.

Como antesala a la entrega del Premio AIPS América, la entidad dictó un Seminario dirigido a profesionales y estudiantes de comunicación social quienes conocieron la historia que ha tenido la Asociación Internacional de la Prensa Deportiva, AIPS, a lo largo de los 90 años de existencia. La charla estuvo a cargo de Montesinos quien hizo un comparativo frente a los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe, que de forma coincidente también celebran 90 años de haber sido creados.

Los asistentes se mostraron muy interesados en conocer el crecimiento que ha tenido la AIPS desde el 2 de julio de 1924 cuando fue creada.

También los estudiantes de periodismo destacaron programas como el de Jóvenes Reporteros, que en la actualidad es dirigido por el presidente de AIPS, el italiano Gianni Merlo, pero que en Colombia, por intermedio de ACORD, será puesto igualmente en funcionamiento.

Celebration of the 90 years of AIPS, delivery of prize and seminar carried out in Colombia

Cali, Colombia, 26 August 2014.- In a sober but elegant and crowded ceremony, the Sports Journalists Federation of America, AIPS America, represented by its first vice president Enrique Montesinos, and the vice president for south america Carlos Julio Castellanos, delivered the Award AIPS America 2013 to the Best Press Center, the one of the Ninth World Games held in the city of Cali, between July and August 2013.

This act, which was highlighted and praised by the Colombian sports media, is part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), in America.

A plaque in the manner of parchment, institutional trophy of AIPS America, was delivered to the Secretariat of Sports and Recreation of Cali, Clara Luz Roldán and to the Private Secretary of the Municipality of Cali, Juan Esteban Angel Borrero, who represented to the Mayor of the vallecaucana capital, Rodrigo Guerrero, principal enthusiast for the success of the World Games.

During the presentation of the Award AIPS America for Best Media Center, the vice president for south america and President of ACORD Colombia, Carlos Julio Castellanos Rincon, did a quick recount of what has been the award, which was approved during the Congress of AIPS America was held in Bucaramanga, in the beginning of 2011.

As a prelude the delivery of the AIPS America Award, the entity dictated a Seminar aimed at professionals and students of social communication who knew the history that has had the International Sports Press Association, AIPS, throughout the 90 years of existence. The talk was given by Montesinos who made a comparison against the Central American and Caribbean Games, which coincidentally also is celebrating 90 years of have been created.

The attendees were very interested in knowing the growth that has taken the AIPS since July 2, 1924 when it was created.

Journalism students also highlighted programs like the Young Reporters, who currently is led by the AIPS President, the Italian Gianni Merlo, but that in Colombia, through ACORD, it will also put into operation.
