Caracas, Venezuela, 28 de diciembre de 2014.- El grandeliga José Altuve, líder bate de la Liga Americana, y la reina de las piletas, Andreína Pinto, fueron elegidos por la prensa especializada nacional Atletas del Año 2014, tras el proceso de selección promovido por el Círculo de Periodistas Deportivos de Venezuela.

Altuve arrasó en la selección en la que participaron 86 comunicadores sociales. El camarero de los Astros de Houston fue líder bate de la Liga Americana con average de .341. Igualmente quedó al frente entre los mejores estafadores del circuito con 56 bases robadas.
El Premio Atleta del Año corona un año extraordinario para el maracayero, quien recoge el testigo del slugger Miguel Cabrera, quien cargó con el galardón los últimos tres años.
Por su parte, la aragüeña Pinto se llevó la nominación tras completar otro año de éxitos con 11 medallas de oro en las dos competencias de ciclo olímpico de 2014: cinco en los Suramericanos de Chile y seis en los Centroamericanos y del Caribe de Veracruz, reafirmándose como la sirena dorada de las piletas criollas.
El Premio Atleta del Año se otorga desde 1944.
La selección de la prensa especializada del país también reconoció el trabajo anual de otros actores del deporte nacional.
El Equipo Nacional de Softbol, campeón Panamericano y Centroamericano y del Caribe fue elegido como Selección del Año 2014. En tanto, Marinos de Anzoátegui, quien este año conquistó su décimo campeonato en la Liga Profesional de Baloncesto, fue distinguido con el premio Equipo Profesional de Año.
Por segundo año corrido, el seleccionador de La Vinotinto Femenina, Kenneth Zseremeta se alza con el Premio Entrenador del Año.
La prensa reconoció el trabajo de Lourdes Concalves, a la que eligió como Dirigente del Año, y a la Federación Venezolana de Deportes Acuáticos, FEVEDA, como Entidad Deportiva del Año, por el fecundo año que labró la disciplina.
El Premio Atleta del Año se entregará a finales de enero en Caracas.

Caracas, Venezuela, December 28, 2014.- The big leaguer José Altuve, leading bat of the American League , and the Queen of pools, Andreína Pinto, were elected by the national specialized press, Athletes of the Year 2014, after the selection process promoted by the Circle of Sports Journalists of Venezuela.
Altuve swept at the selection in which participating 86 journalists. The waiter of the Astros of Houston was leader of the bat of the American League with average of .341 . He also was at the front among the best scammers of the circuit with 56 stolen bases.
The Award Athlete of the Year crowns a remarkable year for the maracayero, who takes over from slugger Miguel Cabrera, who bore the award the past three years.
For its part, the aragüeña Pinto was carried the nomination after completing another successful year with 11 gold medals in both competences of the Olympic cycle 2014: five in the South American of Chile and six in the Central American and Caribbean of Veracruz, reaffirming as the golden mermaid of the Creole pools.
The Prize Athlete of the Year has been awarded since 1944.
The selection of the specialized press of the country also acknowledged the annual work of other actors of the national sport.
The National Softball Team, Pan American champion and Central American and Caribbean was chosen as the Selection of the Year 2014. Meanwhile, Marinos from Anzoátegui, who this year conquered its tenth championship in the Professional Basketball League, was distinguished with the Professional Team Award of the year.
For the second year to date, the coach of La Vinotinto Women, Kenneth Zseremeta stands with the Award Coach of the Year.
The press acknowledged the work of Lourdes Concalves, to which elected as Manager of the Year, and to the Venezuelan Federation of Watersports, FEVEDA as Sports Entity of the Year, for the fruitful year that cultivated the discipline.
The Award Athlete of the Year will be delivered in late January in Caracas.
