«No, serán unos Juegos diferentes, pero los resultados deportivos serán igualmente elevados».
No habrá público, ¿esto deprimirá a los atletas?
«No lo creo. Los atletas estarán muy concentrados en su rendimiento. El público para algunos también es un elemento disuasorio y lo sufren. Sí, después dirán que hubieran preferido estadios llenos, la post-victoria será diferente, pero la emoción será la misma porque habrá miles de millones de espectadores frente a la televisión, más que nunca. Los grandes jugadores serán más conocidos en el mundo y por tanto tendrán nuevos mercados».
COVID-19 positivos. El domingo por la noche, un joven periodista italiano comenzó su aventura olímpica pasando del avión a la ambulancia que le llevó al hotel donde se ponen en cuarentena los casos positivos. No pasó la prueba de saliva. Dicen que no padece ningún síntoma en particular, pero que verá la inauguración de los Juegos Olímpicos desde esa habitación desnuda. Es uno de los nuevos casos, y lo más probable es que haya otros entre los periodistas y en la Villa Olímpica. Muchos seguirán maldiciendo la idea olímpica, otros se pondrán en medio diciendo que aún los Juegos podrían aplazarse, en tanto que otros dirían: «Intentemos vivir esta experiencia un poco enjaulados y luego juzguemos».

It is one of the new cases, and there would most likely be others among journalists and in the Olympic Village. Many will still curse the Olympic idea, others will stand in the middle saying that it could still be postponed, still others: “Let’s try to live this experience a little caged and then judge”.
