Tijuana, México, 21 de marzo de 2014.- El Círculo de Cronistas Deportivos de Tijuana (CCDT) reconoció los valores de las actuaciones deportivas más relevantes del 2013 y en Gala del Deporte premió como Deportista del Año al arquero Luis Tapia y como mejor deportista infantil a Brandon Meza.

Ante más de 300 asistentes, autoridades, directivos y los premiados, acompañados de familiares y entrenadores, el CCDT también designó a Saúl Castro forjador del deporte de Baja California, y reconoció la trayectoria de más de 60 años en los medios de comunicación y ofreció un sentido homenaje póstumo a Arturo Hacho Kaloyán.
El Deportista del Año, Luis Tapia recibió la estatuilla única que entrega el CCDT, de manos del director del Deporte y la Cultura Física, Saúl Castro y de Leopoldo Guerrero, delegado del Sistema Educativo Estatal en Tijuana, representante del gobernador Francisco Vega de Lamadrid.
Tapia se hizo acreedor de esta distinción por ser el primer mexicano en ganar la medalla de oro individual en el Mundial Juvenil de Tiro con Arco en Corea, triunfo que dio a México boletos para los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud en Nanjing 2014.
Los merecimientos de Brandon Meza para ser mejor deportista infantil fue por pegar cinco jonrones en la Serie Mundial de Ligas Pequeñas de Williamsport y ser líder en ese renglón.
Por segundo año consecutivo, como Co Deportista 2013, fue homenajeada, la bolichista Raquel Orozco Díaz de León, ganadora de dos medallas en los Centroamericanos y del Caribe de Boliche, en Costa Rica. El premio se lo entregó Andrés Guevara presidente de FEMECRODE (Federación Mexicana de Cronistas Deportivos).
La Fundación Castro Limón recibió la Placa Impulsor del Deporte por las multitudinarias actividades deportivas superando los 10 mil participantes.
Asistieron entre otras personalidades a la entrega de premios el presidente del CCDT, Alberto Rico; el representante de Cervezas Tecate, David Busani y los ex campeones mundiales de boxeo Eric “Terrible” Morales y Manuel Mantecas Medina.

Memorable evening for the «Sports Gala 2013 in Tijuana «

Tijuana, Mexico, March 21, 2014.- The Circle of Sports Writers of Tijuana (CCDT) recognized the values of the most important sports performances of the 2013 and in the Sports Gala were awarded as the Athlete of the Year to goalkeeper Luis Tapia and as the best child athlete to Brandon Meza.
With over 300 attendees, authorities, directors and prizewinners accompanied by family members and coaches, the CCDT also designated Saúl Castro the promoter of the sport of Baja California, and recognized the career of more than 60 years in the media and offered a posthumous tribute to Arturo Hacho Kaloyan.
Sportsman of the Year, Luis Tapia received the unique statuette which delivers the CCDT, from the Director of Sport and Physical Culture, Saul Castro and Leopoldo Guerrero, chief of the state education system in Tijuana, representative of the governor Francisco Vega de Lamadrid.
Tapia was honored with this distinction for being the first Mexican to win the individual gold medal at the World Youth of Archery in Korea, triumph that gave to Mexico the tickets for the Olympic Youth Games in Nanjing 2014.
The merits of Brandon Meza to be the better child athlete was for hitting five home runs in the World Series of the Little Leagues of Williamsport and be a leader in that matter.
For the second consecutive year, as Co Sportsman 2013, was honored, the bowler Raquel Orozco Díaz de León, who won two medals at the Central American and Caribbean Games of Bowling in Costa Rica. The award was handed her by Andrés Guevara President of FEMECRODE (Mexican Federation of Sports Writers).
The Castro Limón Foundation received the Plate of Impeller of Sports by the multitudinous sports activities exceeding 10,000 participants.
Among others the awards ceremony was attended by the president of CCDT, Alberto Rico, the representative of Tecate Beer, David Busani and former world boxing champions Eric «Terrible» Morales and Manuel Mantecas Medina.
