BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, 28 de julio de 2018.- Una fresca pero soleada mañana sabatina es testigo de una nueva práctica de fútbol y básquet en el Polideportivo Colegiales. Los atletas van llegando entusiasmados; algunos con sus padres y otros con sus amigos. Fernando los espera con una sonrisa; junto a Juani y Nico comienzan a repartir las pecheras de colores con el logo de Olimpiadas Especiales. De pronto en las gradas se escuchan los padres que entre mates y fotos empiezan a corear el nombre de sus hijos, pues ya comenzó el partido.
“Olimpiadas Especiales es una gran familia y el mejor programa inclusivo que conozco, buscamos generar bienestar y acercamiento al deporte para todos los atletas con discapacidad intelectual”, expresó orgulloso Fernando por ser parte fundamental del proyecto.
Fernando Zurzolo es Coordinador de Deportes de Olimpiadas Especiales Argentina. Además de monitorear a los atletas para asegurarse de que todos logren un óptimo rendimiento y se sientan a gusto con el deporte, organiza actividades especiales como ser la coreo homenaje a los 50 años de los Special Olympics.
El profe, como le dicen los atletas, nos explicó cuál es su labor como coordinador y qué representa Olimpiadas Especiales en cada deportista.

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, June 28, 2018.- A fresh Saturday morning but sunny is witness to a new practice of football and basketball at the Colegiales Sports Center. The athletes are arriving enthusiastically; some with their parents and others with their friends. Fernando waits for them with a smile; along with Juani and Nico they start distributing the colorful tshirts with the Special Olympics logo. Suddenly in the stands you hear the parents between “mates” (the most popular drink in Argentina) and photos begin to chant the name of their children, because the game has already started.
«Special Olympics is a great family and the best inclusive program I know, we seek to generate well-being and closeness to the sport for all athletes with intellectual disabilities» expressed Fernando proudly for being a fundamental part of the project.
Fernando Zurzolo is Sports Coordinator of Special Olympics Argentina. In addition to monitoring the athletes to ensure that everyone achieves optimal performance and feel comfortable with the sport, organizes special activities such as the tribute to 50 years of the Special Olympics.
The teacher, as the athletes tell him, explained to us what his work is as coordinator and what represents Special Olympics in each athlete.
