LIMA, PERÚ, 8 de agosto de 2019.- Con la presencia de más de 30 asistentes, se realizó en las instalaciones de Casa Perú, el III Encuentro de Foto-Periodistas Panamericanos. evento que se viene realizando desde hace tres ciclos ininterrumpidamente. El evento fue presentado por Walter Challapa Escalante, Presidente de la Unión Panamericana de Fotógrafos – UPANFOT, quien desde la promoción de la Primera Edición de los AIPS Awards realizada durante los Juegos Bolivarianos, Santa Marta 2017 ha apoyado la difusión de los mismos, no solo haciéndonos partícipes de los Encuentros, sino divulgando la información en diferentes medios y pasando la voz con colegas que no están en el cubrimiento de los eventos multideportivos pero que son Foto-Periodistas Deportivos.
Asimismo, la IAAF sigue apoyando la promoción de nuestros premios y una vez más nos brindó un espacio dentro del Seminario de actualización que se realiza en las instalaciones del Media Press Center. En esa oportunidad se tuvo la presencia de Reporteros Jóvenes quienes han expresado su gratitud con AIPS por pensar en ellos creando la Young Reporters Category, como Laura Castillo, periodista colombiana que vive en Argentina y está haciendo el cubrimiento de estas justas para Habla Deportes, para ella, que tengan en cuenta a los jóvenes es importante, «nosotros nos esforzamos mucho por hacer bien nuestro trabajo, nos tienen en la idea que solo hacemos periodismo simple para redes sociales, pero no es así, nosotros también investigamos y hacemos periodismo de calidad, por eso es muy bueno que tengamos esta categoría, para mostrar lo que hacemos».

Journalists commit to the AIPS Sport Media Awards

LIMA, PERU, August 8, 2019.- With the presence of more than 30 attendees, the III Pan-American Photojournalists Meeting was held at Casa Peru facilities, event that has been running continuously from the three past Olympic cycles.
The event was presented by Walter Challapa Escalante, President of the Pan American Photographers Union – UPANFOT, who since the promotion of the First Edition of the AIPS Awards during the Bolivarian Games, Santa Marta 2017 has supported them, not only making us part of the Meetings, but spreading the information in different media and around the continent within the colleagues who are not in the coverage of multisport events but who are Photo-Sports Journalists
Likewise, the IAAF continues its support to the promotion of our awards and once again provided us with a space within their Seminar held at the Media Press Center facilities. On this opportunity we had the presence of some Young Reporters who have expressed their gratitude with AIPS for thinking of them creating the Young Reporters Category, such as Laura Castillo, a Colombian journalist who lives in Argentina and who is covering these Games for Habla Deportes, for her, that AIPS take young people into account is very important, «we strive hard to do our job well, people have us in the idea that we only do simple journalism for social networks, but this is not always, we also investigate and do quality journalism , so it is very good that we have this category, to show what we do».
