Asunción, 16 de setiembre de 2014- AIPS, la Asociación Internacional de la Prensa Deportiva, celebra en 2014 el 90° aniversario de su fundación. La fecha exacta del nacimiento de la entidad que cobija en el mundo a los periodistas deportivos profesionales, es la del 2 de julio (existe un extraordinario testimonio gráfico de la sesión fundacional, entre las cuerdas de un ring de boxeo, en París, durante la celebración de los Juegos Olímpicos de Verano de ese año), pero las conmemoraciones se extenderán hasta el último día del calendario.

El objetivo de AIPS y cuyo cumplimiento ha sido encargado a todos sus brazos continentales, incluyendo naturalmente a AIPS América, además de honrar la memoria de aquellos visionarios y valientes pioneros de la idea de la integración y la solidaridad en el gremio, es instalar en todo el planeta un sentido más arraigado de pertenencia a la institución, que al entrar a la década de su centenario, vive momentos de plena consolidación.

AIPS tiene hoy contactos hechos con 160 países de los cinco continentes, siendo unos 120 de ellos activos protagonistas de las vivencias actuales de la entidad. La cantidad de socios se va aproximando a los 10.000, número que años atrás constituía una meta inalcanzable y que hoy está a punto de convertirse en una bella realidad.

Con apoyo de AIPS, en concordancia con el concepto emanado de la conducción mundial, AIPS América ha diseñado un plan de expansión y consolidación del concepto institucional, a través de la presencia de los miembros de su comité ejecutivo en distintos puntos del territorio continental.

Al promediar el mes de setiembre, ya se han realizado cinco actos conmemorativos de la fecha, los cuales son:

11 de agosto: En Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, con la presencia de dos miembros del comité ejecutivo de AIPS América: Enrique Montesinos (Cuba, primer vicepresidente) y Jorge Torres Ocumárez (República Dominicana, prosecretario).

13 de agosto: En San Salvador, El Salvador, con la participación de Moisés Avalos (Nicaragua, vicepresidente para Norte, Centroamérica y el Caribe).

15 de agosto: En Ciudad de Panamá, Panamá, con asistencia de Enrique Montesinos y Moisés Avalos.

21 de agosto: En Cali, Colombia, con Enrique Montesinos y Carlos Julio Castellanos (Colombia, vicepresidente para Sudamérica), representando a nuestra organización continental.

10 de setiembre: En Tegucigalpa, Honduras, con el acompañamiento de Enrique Montesinos.

Están programados hasta el momento otros tres eventos más, que son:

30 de setiembre: En Asunción, Paraguay, con la presencia de Gabriel Cazenave (Paraguay, presidente)

8 de octubre: En Mar del Plata, Argentina, con Gabriel Cazenave, Carlos Julio Castellanos y Vicente Dáttoli (Brasil, miembro del comité ejecutivo de AIPS) como delegados designados.

24 de noviembre: En Viña del Mar, Chile, con Gabriel Cazenave, Carlos Julio Castellanos y Gerardo España (Ecuador, secretario general), ejerciendo la representación de la dirigencia continental.

Y habrá otros actos más para celebrar la salud institucional de AIPS, con seguridad.

No podemos dejar de citar que en América, los movimientos tendientes a la conformación de una organización continental, tuvieron como promotor a don Abelardo Raidi, quien fue el que estimuló la participación americana en los cónclaves mundiales que hacia los años ’60 y ’70 organizaba AIPS.

Ese incansable esmero por posicionar a Latinoamérica primero y al continente entero, después, trazó una ruta que desembocó en la fundación de FEPEDA (Federación de Periodistas Deportivos de América), antecesora de nuestra actual y altiva AIPS América.

Las escalas de ese tesonero esfuerzo del prócer venezolano, pueden resumirse en estas icónicas fechas:

28/05/1982: Declaración de Caracas. Se echan las bases para la creación de la Federación Latinoamericanana y del Caribe de Periodistas Deportivos.

07/08/1982: Congreso de La Habana. Juramenta primera junta directiva de la Federación Latinoamericanana y del Caribe de Periodistas Deportivos.

04/04/1985: En México DF se resuelve adoptar la denominación de Federación de Periodistas Deportivos de América (FEPEDA).

Y 26 años después, en el Congreso de Bucaramanga, el nombre de AIPS América sustituyó al de FEPEDA, para dar comienzo a la historia moderna de nuestra entidad, a la cual, con el tesón y la laboriosidad de un grupo de excelentes colegas y amigos, tratamos de honrar.

90 years under the same flag

Asuncion, Paraguay, September 16, 2014.- AIPS, the International Sports Press Association, in 2014 celebrates the 90th anniversary of its founding. The exact date of birth of the entity that houses in the world to the professional sports journalists, is the July 2 (there is an extraordinary graphic testimony of the founding meeting, between the ropes of a boxing ring, in Paris, during the celebration of the Summer Olympic Games of that year), but the commemorations will be extended until the last day of the calendar.

The objective of AIPS and whose compliance has been entrusted to all its continental arms, including naturally to AIPS America, besides honor the memory of those visionaries and courageous pioneers of the idea of the integration and the solidarity in the union, is install on all the planet a sense more ingrained of belonging to the institution, which at entering to the decade of its centennial, lives moments of full consolidation.

AIPS has now contacts made ​​with 160 countries on all five continents, being about 120 of them active protagonists of the current experiences of the entity. The number of members is approaching to 10,000; number that years ago was an unattainable goal and that now is about to become a beautiful reality.

With the support of AIPS, consistent with the concept emanated from the global conduction, AIPS America has designed a plan of expansion and consolidation of the institutional concept, through the presence of the members of its executive committee at different points of the continental territory.

When averaging the month of September, already have held five events commemorating the date, which are:

August 11: In Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with the presence of two members of the executive committee of AIPS America: Enrique Montesinos (Cuba, first vice president) and Jorge Torres Ocumárez (Dominican Republic, prosecretary).

And there will be other acts more to celebrate the institutional health of AIPS, with certainty.

We can not fail to mention that in America, the movements for the establishment of a continental organization, had as promoter to Don Abelardo Raidi, who was the one who encouraged the american participation in global conclaves that by the 60s and 70s was organizing by AIPS.

That tireless dedication for positioning to Latin America first and the entire continent then, traced a route that led to the founding of FEPEDA (Sports Journalists Federation of America), the predecessor of our present AIPS America.

The scales of the tenacious efforts of the venezuelan leader, can be summarized in these iconic dates:

28/05/1982: Declaration of Caracas. Are cast the basis for the creation of the Latin American and Caribbean Sports Journalists.

07/08/1982: Congress in La Habana. Has sworn the first board of the Latin American and Caribbean Federation of Sports Journalists.

04/04/1985: In Mexico City was resolved to adopt the designation of Sports Journalists Federation of America (FEPEDA).

And 26 years later, at the Congress of Bucaramanga, the name of AIPS America replaced that of FEPEDA, to start the modern history of our organization, which, with the tenacity and hard work of a group of excellent colleagues and friends, we try to honor.
